In an effort to reach those who are in need of such resources in remote locations and villages, we have committed ourselves to the humbling challenge of building and providing mobile reading rooms and libraries in remote locations and villages. In doing so, children will have a place to go to for homework assistance, engage in collaborative thinking, as well as have a space for their academic minds to be nourished.
Although many nations object to child labor, many third world countries believe it is an acceptable and necessary way of life and unfortunately young children are at an all-time high in these horrifying situations.
This is why having a safe place to go after school hours is vital to their future. Unfortunately, too much unstructured time can cause kids to neglect a focus their school-related obligations. Unproductive, unhealthy, or even dangerous behaviors can materialize seemingly out of thin air. Having a place to go before and after school can help mitigate the tendency towards inertia and provide kids with a positive, character-building use of their time.
In addition to our international work, we’re also focusing on youth right here in the DMV. There is a misconception that everyone benefits from the wealth accumulated in the area. However, there are many pockets in areas like DC and Region 1 of Fairfax County, where there are many families living far below the poverty line. Our goal is to also assist youth in the area by providing school supplies.
By having access to basic educational materials of their own, children can improve grades, creativity, attitudes towards learning, behavior, peer relationships and self-image. Education is the first step to overcoming poverty. A single pack of pencils and paper could be the gateway to a bright promising career/future.
We are aiming to raise funds and seek in-kind-donations (materials) to serve children within the Region 1 housing communities within the DMV. Children, of all ages, and in all countries, are being affected, in particular by the socio-economic impacts and, in some cases, by mitigation measures that may inadvertently do more harm than good. This is why as an organization; we have vowed to assist those that are in need of retuning back to school with scholastic assistance.
We are asking for your help so that we can continue assisting communities and children in need, and improve the overall narrative of the importance of education.
Thousands of students in sub-Saharan Africa and around the world don’t have access to school supplies and textbooks. Providing one textbook to every student in a classroom increases literacy significantly.
Without the necessary school supplies, bright young minds lack the quality of education that they need to thrive academically. Too many young people with high potential turn to destructive rather than constructive paths for themselves and their community.
When struggling schools work hard with what little is available to them, we step in to help. By offering basic tools of education to schools, we improve access to quality education for the future leaders.
You can help - donate school supplies today for children.
